Effective Date: October 27, 2025
Xplainity’s Community Guidelines are designed to foster a respectful, safe, and productive environment for all users during oral assessments. Although Xplainity does not offer public forums or social networking features (interactions are limited to student-instructor assessment sessions), these guidelines apply to all forms of communication and conduct on the platform. Mathfit Education Private Limited (“Mathfit”), as the provider of Xplainity, expects both students and instructors to adhere to the following principles whenever they use the platform.
Be Respectful and Professional
All users should treat each other with courtesy and respect. Students and instructors must communicate in a professional manner, similar to a real-world classroom or examination setting. Active listening, polite language, and constructive dialogue are key. Disagreements or challenges in assessment should be handled calmly and academically. Personal attacks, rude comments, or belittling remarks have no place on Xplainity.
No Harassment or Discrimination
Harassment, bullying, or any form of hate speech is strictly prohibited. Do not use language or tone that is threatening, insulting, or discriminatory. Xplainity is a platform for learning and evaluation, and every user has the right to participate free from abuse or fear. This means:
- No Hate Speech: Do not make derogatory or prejudiced remarks about anyone’s race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, caste, gender, sexual orientation, or any other personal characteristics. Such behavior will result in immediate action.
- No Bullying or Intimidation: Do not intimidate or deliberately put undue pressure on students or instructors. Instructors should challenge students academically but never resort to personal insults or humiliation. Likewise, students should not harass instructors or act with aggressive disrespect if they dislike an outcome.
Academic Integrity and Honesty
Xplainity is built to uphold academic integrity. As such:
- Students: You are expected to answer questions truthfully and to the best of your own ability. Do not use unauthorized aids (such as trying to secretly use another device or get outside help during the oral assessment). Do not falsify information or attempt to mislead the instructor. Impersonation is forbidden – you must not have someone else take your assessment or pretend to be another person.
- Instructors: You are expected to conduct assessments fairly and objectively. Do not knowingly allow cheating. Ensure that each student’s performance is evaluated on its own merit. Maintain confidentiality of assessment content so students cannot preview questions in advance inappropriately.
- Both parties should report any suspected cheating or integrity violations to the relevant authority (such as the educational institution) and/or to Xplainity support.
Privacy and Confidentiality
- Personal Information: Do not ask for or share unnecessary personal information during assessments. For example, an instructor should not request a student’s personal contact details or unrelated personal data as part of the assessment. Students likewise should avoid divulging sensitive personal information about themselves or others during sessions.
- Recording and Sharing: Xplainity may record sessions for verification and feedback purposes (as per our Privacy Policy and with notice). However, users themselves should not independently record, screenshot, or share content from an assessment session without permission. Instructors and students must respect each other’s privacy; assessment interactions should remain within the platform and the intended academic context. Any distribution of assessment recordings or content to unauthorized parties is against these guidelines and may violate privacy laws or policies (including potentially FERPA for educational records in the US, or data protection laws like GDPR/DPDP).
- Professional Boundaries: The student-instructor relationship on Xplainity should remain focused on academics. Instructors should maintain appropriate professional boundaries (no harassment or personal advances toward students), and students should interact with instructors in a respectful student-teacher manner.
Appropriate Content and Language
- Keep communication academically appropriate. Avoid slang that could be misunderstood, and do not use profanity or obscene language. Even if you feel frustrated, remain courteous.
- Content discussed should stay on topic with the assignment or subject matter. Introducing unrelated controversial topics (politics, religion unrelated to the curriculum, etc.) is discouraged unless it is part of the academic material.
- If at any point a conversation veers into uncomfortable or irrelevant territory, either party should steer it back to the assessment topic. Instructors hold responsibility to guide discussions appropriately, and students should also feel empowered to focus on relevant content.
- Xplainity is not a place for promoting personal agendas, commercial interests, or any kind of extremist or inappropriate material. Such content is prohibited.
Safe and Supportive Environment
While Xplainity’s primary aim is to challenge students academically, the environment should remain safe and supportive:
- Constructive Feedback: Instructors are encouraged to give constructive, educational feedback during or after oral responses. Feedback should be aimed at helping the student learn, not at personal criticism. Students should receive guidance on mistakes in a respectful manner.
- Student Conduct: Students should approach the assessments with an open mind and a willingness to engage. Active participation (speaking to explain your answers, asking clarifying questions if needed) is encouraged. If you do not understand a question, it is acceptable to ask the instructor to rephrase or provide context, rather than disengaging or guessing dishonestly.
- Error Handling: Technical issues or misunderstandings can occur. Both parties should exercise patience and understanding if there are technical glitches (like connectivity issues with the video or audio). Yelling or blaming due to technical difficulties is not productive; instead, calmly work together or reach out to support to resolve issues.
Compliance with Policies and Law
These Community Guidelines work in tandem with Xplainity’s other policies, including the Acceptable Use Policy, Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and any agreements with educational institutions. Users must also comply with any relevant laws and institutional codes of conduct during their use of Xplainity. For example:
- Do not engage in any activity that would violate anti-discrimination laws or harassment laws.
- Respect intellectual property: do not share copyrighted exam content or materials unless authorized.
- Adhere to your institution’s honor code or examination rules when using Xplainity.
By following these guidelines and the broader policies, you help ensure that Xplainity remains a legally compliant and ethically sound platform for everyone.
Enforcement and Consequences
Mathfit (Xplainity) takes violations of these Community Guidelines seriously:
- If a student or instructor violates these guidelines, actions may be taken. For minor issues, a reminder or warning may be given. Serious breaches (such as harassment, cheating, or privacy violations) can result in immediate removal from the session, reporting to the relevant institution, and/or suspension or termination of the user’s account.
- The Company reserves the right to end an assessment session early if the interaction becomes abusive or violates these standards, and to involve appropriate authorities (such as school officials or law enforcement) if necessary.
- Remember that your use of Xplainity is a privilege contingent on good conduct. Mathfit may refuse platform access to individuals who demonstrate that they cannot abide by these guidelines.
Reporting Concerns
If you experience or witness any behavior that contravenes these Community Guidelines, please report it:
- Report to Institution: If you are a student, you may report misconduct of an instructor to your school or university. If you are an instructor, you should report student misconduct following your institution’s policies.
- Report to Xplainity: Additionally, you can inform us directly by contacting kshitij.jain@xplainity.com with details of the incident. We will handle such reports confidentially and take appropriate action in line with our policies.
- We encourage open communication. The earlier an issue is reported, the quicker it can be resolved. We are committed to working with educational partners to address any incidents and maintain the integrity of the platform.
By using Xplainity, all users agree to uphold these Community Guidelines. Mathfit Education Private Limited appreciates your cooperation in making Xplainity a positive educational space. These guidelines are effective as of October 27, 2025, and may be updated as needed to reflect the evolving needs of our community and platform. Thank you for contributing to a respectful and honest environment for learning.
